About me

My journey into the world of computing began in my early childhood. At the tender age of 10, I was captivated by the sight of the Mattel Aquarius at my cousin's house and the Spectrum at a friend's. These early encounters sparked a lifelong fascination with technology.

The Commodore 64 soon became a cultural phenomenon, and I recall the excitement of gaming sessions with friends. A few years later, my parents gifted me a Commodore 128D, a machine that I still cherish today.

At 17, I worked during summer holidays to save up for my own computer, a 386SX with 1MB of RAM and a 10MB hard drive. Over the years, I have assembled countless computers and servers.

I pursued formal education in Computer Science at ITIS Vito Volterra in San Dona' di Piave in Italy, a degree in Computing and IT in UK at the Open University and a just submitted the dissertation for Master's in Web Technologies.

My professional career started in 1993 as an assembly developer, working with Microchip and Toshiba microcontrollers. Throughout my career, I learned a wide range of programming languages, including PHP, Java, Python, R, C/C++, TypeScript, Go, Pascal, Delphi, Ada, Fortran, and STX (a language for Programmable Logic Controllers).

In these 30 years I have drawn inspiration from the works of renowned computer scientists like Niklaus Wirth, Edsger Dijkstra, C.A.R. Hoare, Tom DeMarco, Peter Juliff, Ken Thompson, Dave Thomas, recognizing the timeless principles that underpin modern technology.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy exploring creative outlets such as sound engineering, video editing, and Arduino projects. I'm also committed to environmental conservation and support various causes through open-source software and volunteer work.

This website reflects my passion for technology and my desire to share knowledge and insights with others. Here, you'll find articles on software engineering, system administration, sound engineering, video editing, and other related topics.
